▶ Perforated Metal Cladding - Ranken Technical College - St. Louis, MO

Hendrick continues to be the go-to architectural metal provider for college and university building projects. When architects and design teams need top-of-the line metal products and design solutions for high-profile projects, they count on Hendrick. For more than a century, Ranken Technical College in St. Louis, Missouri has prepared students for careers in a variety of technical fields ranging from machining to engineering. Offering bachelor’s and associate degrees in a wide variety of majors, Ranken relies on state-of-the-art equipment and technology to make it happen. As part of a campus expansion, Ranken built the Robert W. Plaster Center. A 26,000-square-foot manufacturing incubator and training center. The building houses student labs and workspaces, pre-apprentice and apprenticeship training, start-up companies and established companies. JEMA, the project’s architectural firm, desired an exterior element to the building that was industrial in look, and cutting edge in design. Hendrick made this a reality by cladding the surface with .190” thick aluminum panels featuring a 3/8” (three eights inch) on 9/16” (nine sixteenths inch) staggered round pattern. To keep with the modern and technical theme, the panels were clear anodized to allow the material to keep a raw look. After a groundbreaking in October 2017, the building was fully operational in 2020. Many educational building projects have relied on Hendrick Architectural products, including sun control at the University of Chicago, tree grating at Duke University and profile bar grating at VCU’s College of Health Professions.
